Speedy

Concept 2: Speedy (alternate title: Sleep-deprivation has similar effects to alcohol.)

Consisting of turtles.  Lots of speedy turtles.  I think my favourite is the turtle on a soda rocket, because why not?  Turtles everywhere!!  Skydiving, entering the atmosphere, shooting from cannons, riding horses, doing all the speedy things you'd never expect a turtle to do!  Yay!

Carsick

Concept 1: Carsick. (alternate title: Turtles are a lot more fun to draw.)

This started out with the car on a slow boat trip, bored to death.  I'd probably use a sportier, speedier looking car for the actual composition--I just can't draw cars very well.  The turtles... bled in from Concept 2.

RE: Synchronize

Some new attempts at blending fast and slow.

I... fail at drawing racecars.  The gist, though, is a racecar bored sick on a tediously slow ferry.  He's bored sea-sick!

Like a seal in... molasses?  I'm not sure about the composition of this one, because capturing molasses without labeling it is my preference, but I wasn't sure how to go about that.
Slothet.  A sloth sleeping on a comet!  Pardon the awful sloth drawing, but the idea was adorable.
Ballroom breakdancing.  Just a rough sketch.  How rude!  I'd love to have a lady in a ball gown doing this, but considering that these are concepts for a composite, I'm not sure I could find the necessary images.
Stop and smell the--oh.  Or not. Lady Bug is quite put off by Grass Hopper's behaviour.
Talk about working for one's breakfast!!  This won't be easy.  Not today, Mr. Falcon!  Not today.
I like the concept of this one, even though I can't draw planes to save my life.  Insert anything speedy into smoke, really, but I chose a Blue Angel (if you haven't seen them perform, you're missing out!) because it's my childhood embodiment of speed.
And this is why the rabbit lost the race.
Instead of an asteroid, how about a turtle?  Either that, or he's skydiving.  "Mach Turtle."
The tortoise and the hare, in their older years?  The tortoise got the better end, of course.

Synchronize

Attempting to synergize fast and slow, momentum and inertia, the dynamic and the stationary, in a variety of different ways.

"Crash and burn" takes a (relatively) stationary Earth at collision with a dynamic asteroid.
Crash and burn
"Slowest race" is not so much speed of movement as speed of consumption.
Slowest race
"E=MC2" is an attempt to visualize the conversion of matter into energy using the speed of light.  Stationary to dynamic.
E=MC2
"Slothful speed" is... well, a stationary object moving.  Sort of.
Slothful speed
"Stationary speed demon" is a trophy of a skier--frozen movement.  See what I did there?
Stationary speed demon
"Unstoppable force, immovable object"--well, rather self-explanatory.
Unstoppable force, immovable object
"Gyroclock" is a stationary (dead) clock in motion.
Gyroclock
"Don't dance too fast" is a reference to a great poem, basically.
Don't dance too fast
"Windswept" is stop-and-smell-the-flowers, where the speed is the implied movement of the wind, interacting with stationary/slow-moving figures.
Windswept
"The tortoise and the hare" is also self-explanatory, though it has the added elements of earth and water, just to further emphasize the slow vs. fast contrast.
The tortoise and the hare
"Treading on thin ice"--torn between moving slowly to avoid going under, but also needing very badly to move faster to avoid going under.
Treading on thin ice
"Momentum" is a large, heavy ship, being slowly moved along by a strong, fast wind.
